I am In Santo Domingo - Art

Santo Domingo is the largest city in the Dominican Republic. This city is really amazing because of the many interesting and historical locals and events. It is a city with well over three million inhabitants, yet there are people who still use a horse and carriage to carry their produce as they visit potential buyers. There are the ultra rich, who drive Ferraris, Mazzaratis, and Porches, as well those you would expect in a third world country, with bicycles, carts, and motorcycles. In spite of the drastic contrasts, people get amazed after visiting. The city has its own rules and regulations. For newcomers they seem weird, yet for locals they are simply the rules of the city. City dwellers are often in the middle of chaos. But if you ask a local, they don't care about the problems, and often will point out many great things in the city. People's behavior in the Santo Domingo is simple and they love to mingle, particularly with new friends or visitors. You will observe this when you are in the city. One of the best ways to really get to know the city and its inhabitants is to spend a few minutes having a drink at a local colmado. Locals are known for their ability to carry on a conversation. Even if they have not visited a place, they will often know someone who has and will happily talk about their friend's experiences. Keep in mind that most Dominicans have family and friends in the US, so they are fond of traveling and will happily tell you where they have been or will go someday. The average citizen will be happy to spend a few minutes with you to talk about where you are from, and to share some of their views with you. You will enjoy their company while you are visiting the city.In Santo Domingo, there are many places of interest to tourists. To begin with, you simply must spend some time in the Colonial District. Santo Domingo has the first school, the first hospital, the first church, and many more first buildings for the new world. Some of these buildings and monuments are places of beauty. Others are simply structures as they stood over five hundred years ago when they were built. Make sure you spend a few days in Santo Domingo so you can enjoy a few days of your holiday in the city. After you have stood where Christopher Columbus stood, you will have an entirely new view of the struggles and triumphs this country has experienced. Being here gives a new feeling, almost a passion. You will appreciate it after visiting yourself. There are also many famous landmarks which are worth seeing. You will love to visit them whenever you find yourself in Santo Domingo. Such places are the center of attraction for many tourists, who often spend several days of their vacations visiting these attractions. If you are going to Santo Domingo, then you should know it is impossible to know everything. Even people who have lived here their whole lives do not know everything. With that said, there are parks, plazas, tall buildings and other recreational places in the city. The most famous museums of this city are the Larimar and Amber museums. These stones are mined locally and are beautiful to see. Other museums include a childrens museum and several art museums. If you love history you will enjoy spending some time in these museums. The educational system in the city is very strong and you can say the best universities are here. There are more than fifteen universities in the city. These universities play a very important role in the education. There are other educational institutions here as well.
